Fashion hurts the environment in many different ways that are well documented here and here.

It is difficult to make clothing that is truly sustainable and many people have differing ideas and opinions about how to do that.

Our interest is in minimising unwanted stock by helping designers build closer relationships with their client base through facilitating pre-order and made to order.

We also emphasise the use of natural fibres as we believe that garments that can return to the earth are the simplest way to minimise harm. The theories around this can be complicated, we encourage our designers to look to producers who use regenerative farming as this is a way to reverse some global warming. You can read more about this here.

We think local production is the best way to ensure the fair treatment of workers and environmental standards, we encourage all our designers to have close relationships with their manufacturers.

None of this is fool proof, fashion and the newness it requires is inherently unsustainable, but we believe by producing in limited runs, consciously sourcing fabrics and encouraging mindful consumption of pieces made to last, change can be meaningful.
